Musée des Gueules Rouges


The Musée des Gueules Rouges traces, along a playful visit, the history of bauxite mining in the Var.

Self-guided tour thanks to the interactive terminals, discover the origin of bauxite, the techniques of transformation of this ore into aluminium and the contemporary uses of this metal.

Accompanied by a tour guide, plunge into the miners' life and walk through the reconstituted mine gallery.

Young audience

Individual children's workshops

Wednesdays during holidays, children's workshops are organized for the individual public. To know the programming of the workshops, see you in the calendar.

Schools

On reservation, educational visits-workshops around the current exhibition and in connection with the school program are organized. From preschool (from the small section) until high school.

Recreation centers

In a resolutely playful perspective, the museum organizes visits and workshops for groups of children from leisure centers. On reservation.

Visits of the mine are only at fixed times and accompanied by the museum guide. The duration of the visit is 45 minutes approx..

The temperature in the mine is about 10°C in winter and 20°C in summer.

Animals are not allowed in the museum, with the exception of guide dogs.

The museum is closed from 16/12 to 1/02 and 1/05, 1/11 and 11/11.
