Exhibition Erosions – The journey of bauxite

The Gueules Rouges museum presents Erosions – The Bauxite Journey, a photographic exhibition on the territory’s mining heritage, of 23 May 2026 to 11 April 2027.

From the Brignoles basin to the Gardanne processing plant, bauxite has shaped the landscape and working history of green Provence for decades. The exhibition Erosions – The Bauxite Journey retrace ce parcours de plus de 70 kilometers through the photographs of Camille Moirenc and the Objectif Photo Tourves collective.

Le titre « Érosions » renvoie à la fois à la genèse géologique de la roche et à l’effacement progressif des structures dans le paysage et de la mémoire ouvrière. Imbued with the red color of ore, rust and remains, this project offers a graphic and sensitive look at a heritage in danger of disappearing.
