The Musée des Comtes de Provence is located in the old center of Brignoles, in the former Palais des Comtes de Provence, classified Historical Monument.
First conceived as a defensive building, the palace is fitted out from the middle of the 13th century to become a count's residence.
From then on, it is here that the Counts of Provence stay when they are in Brignoles.
Come and discover key works such as the Gayolle sarcophagus, an important collection of ex-votos, works by Joseph Parrocel, painter of Louis the Fourteen's battles, or the Provençal painter Frédéric Montenard.

The Interdisciplinary Center for the Conservation and Restoration of Heritage – CICRP – in Marseille welcomes paintings on all supports for restoration, in particular very large formats belonging to institutions and public heritage sites or protected as Historic Monuments. It provides works to restore a material environment, technique, and scientist.
Thus, le “Nattero” has undergone a complete imaging file (direct light, infrared, fake colors...) allowing restorers to carry out the various operations in the workshop : deslagging, varnish lightening, repair of supports, refixage, masticage, filling in the gaps, pictorial retouching, opening…
After several months spent in the restoration workshops of the CICRP, The Old Port of Marseille has made a comeback in the States General room of the museum.
