For several years, the work of Caroline Brotons questions the presence of the body in non-stage spaces where movement is not imposed, but suggests, infiltrates, moves, where the gesture questions the boundaries between presence and erasure.
infra# continues its artistic approach by exploring the tensions between body and frame, gesture and context, work over time, the situated gesture and the coexistence of regimes of perception.
The term below, meaning “below” or “beneath the surface”, evokes an underlying or marginal stratum, a subtle presence that activates and reveals what is happening on the edge of the visible.
The exhibition space offers a privileged terrain for this research : a space already full of meaning, d’images, of glances — in which movement creates a passage, an interval to create a time of resonance and dialogue, where dance becomes sensitive imprint, Transforming act at the very heart of monitoring devices.
