The Châteauvert Contemporary Art Center takes part in the European Heritage Days
From this year, the Châteauvert Contemporary Art Center is fully part of the European Heritage Days, national meeting dedicated to the discovery of places, stories and legacies that shape our territories.
This participation takes on a particular resonance with the theme 2026, “Heritage in danger : revive, resist, reimagine ». It invites us to look at heritage not as a fixed whole., but like living matter, fragile, sometimes threatened, that can be transmitted differently : by reviving stories, by resisting the erasure of know-how, landscapes and species, by reimagining our connections to the places we inhabit.
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September
On this occasion, entry to the art center will be free and its programming offers visitors the opportunity to discover the temporary exhibition Skies, lands, mers, lights : an atlas of metamorphoses. Through the works of Sara Ouhaddou and Younès Rahmoun, the exhibition revisits cultural heritage, artisanal, symbolic and Mediterranean. Gestures transmitted, ancestral forms, natural materials, cosmologies, stories of migration and transformation compose a sensitive atlas where legacies are never simply preserved : they are moved, reactivated, metamorphosed.
This dialogue between memory and transformation continues in the sculpture garden of the art center. The permanent works installed there are gradually creating an open-air artistic heritage., in direct connection with a remarkable natural site. Bordered by the Argens river and its riparian forest, registered in the Natura network 2000 and observed by the League for the Protection of Birds, the garden reminds us that heritage is also alive, vulnerable, moving — made of plant and animal species, environments to preserve, discrete equilibria.
Open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..
