The Red Face Museum, a museum accessible to all

Le label national “Tourism & Handicap” was renewed for the Musée des Gueules Rouges. This label now constitutes the national reference in terms of accessibility. It is a real guarantee of quality for visitors and a development lever for tourist structures engaged in an approach to inclusion..

This label was obtained for the first time in 2015, extended to four disabled families, (engine, mental, auditory and visual) in 2020, then renewed in 2026. Obtained with a success rate of 100 %, it demonstrates the constant commitment of the Musée des Gueules Rouges to accessibility. It highlights the numerous actions allowing people with disabilities to discover the mining history of the territory in the best conditions.. In addition, the museum provides tools such as a tactile model, a magnetic loop at reception, audio guides, adapted plans of the museum, flashlights, booster seats, wheelchairs, magnifying glasses and an elevator.

New tools and devices for inclusive mediation

The Gueules Rouges Museum wants to allow everyone to discover the museum and its history. For that, new tools and new visits are offered to facilitate access to culture. From September, a new accessible offer will allow you to discover the mine and the museum through visits and adapted creative workshops.
