“Moments and traces” Exhibition by Agnès De La Roncière

As part of Reopen the World — Cultural Summer of the Ministry of Culture —

the Châteauvert Contemporary Art Center renews its commitment : circulating art where it is made in the present, closer to children and living spaces. This summer, the artist Agnès de la Roncière led a residency at the Correns Leisure Center, with groups of children under 10 years old, united around a shared collective theme.

The mezzanine now hosts the restitution, like the “ Genesis of an imaginary garden », where frescoes and assemblages intersect : a garden that grows in layers, composed portraits, des objets peints “à inventer”. Ici, the workshop becomes a common landscape : a memory of gestures, of colors, of observations… and joyful freedoms.

Agnès de la Roncière works as one makes a serious playground : with simple rules, accessible tools, and a place left for the unexpected. To Correns, she brought observation of living things into dialogue (plants, jardin), history of painting (from the 16th century to Claire Tabouret) and collective factory : floor and wall frescoes, cut-assembled portraits, still lifes of objects… A museum, oui, but which smells of chalk and oil pastel.
