Arts and Crafts Days – Fabrics and bodies exhibition

The fabric accompanies the human, since birth with nappies, until his death with the shroud. And throughout his life, the clothing is truly “embodied” by the personality that we want to show and vice versa, this is how sometimes clothing and person end up becoming one.

The value of this textile heritage is inestimable for us, by these bodies which have marked these fabrics with their flesh. Reviving these nightgowns is a way of repopulating these disembodied textiles, and the additions we apply to it, scraps of fabric, shreds sometimes, assembled together are a way of bringing these buried stories to light, to reveal the layers of identity from the past that make us who we are.

It's calming. Everything is part of everything.
