3€“THE HOUSE OF THE BRIDGE”
THOMAS MAILAENDER
Exhibition of 28 June to December 1 2024
Following the call for projects launched by the Châteauvert town hall won by Thomas Mailaender, also financially supported by the Provence Verte Agglomeration, but also to the process of dialogue and exchanges with the inhabitants of the territory, the artist presents here some elements and traces of his quest for the commission of “La maison dite du Pont”, permanent work which will be installed this fall at the entrance to the village of Châteauvert. It will be about the past and the present, extraordinary excavations and stories as personal as collective, for a work belonging singularly to all.
Thomas Mailaender is currently benefiting from a monographic exhibition entitled “Beautiful Images” at the European House of Photography (MEP) in Paris from 12 June to 29 September 2024.
“EVERYDAY ARCHEOLOGY”
Participatory project with teenagers from Provence Verte.
This installation on the double-sided wall presents the productions of 5 teenagers whose work is inspired by the artistic practice of Thomas Mailaender. After discovering the artist’s approach and the project of “La maison dite du Pont”, the participants, accompanied by mediators, in turn paid attention to their daily environment, the objects and archives that constitute it. Thus, they propose a composition of forms where the common, the insignificant and the detail are the vocabulary of a visual poem that resembles a “teenager’s bedroom”.
Participated in the Anathaëlle project, Enzo, Jade, Julie, Kylian, Marjorie and Paolo.
