The Musée des Gueules Rouges traces, along a playful visit, the history of bauxite mining in the Var.
Self-guided tour thanks to the interactive terminals, discover the origin of bauxite, the techniques of transformation of this ore into aluminium and the contemporary uses of this metal.
Accompanied by a tour guide, plunge into the miners' life and walk through the reconstituted mine gallery.

Wednesdays during holidays, children's workshops are organized for the individual public. To know the programming of the workshops, see you in the calendar.

On reservation, educational visits-workshops around the current exhibition and in connection with the school program are organized. From preschool (from the small section) until high school.

Visits of the mine are only at fixed times and accompanied by the museum guide. The duration of the visit is 45 minutes approx..
The temperature in the mine is about 10°C in winter and 20°C in summer.
Animals are not allowed in the museum, with the exception of guide dogs.
The museum is closed from 16/12 to 1/02 and 1/05, 1/11 and 11/11.

The accessibility policy of the Musée des Gueules Rouges
1. The Tourism label & Handicap
The Gueules Rouges museum obtained the renewal of the “Tourism and Disability” label on 17 december 2020 for the 4 families with disabilities.
The Musée des Gueules Rouges first obtained the label in 2015 pour 2 Disabled families : motor and mental. The actions carried out by the museum team made it possible to obtain, 5 years later, the renewal of the label but this time for 4 families with disabilities (engine, mental, auditory and visual).
This approach, naturally extends the museum’s desire for accessibility since its opening, enabled the training of staff in welcoming people with disabilities, the installation of accessibility equipment.

- Individual visitors : no reservation is necessary. Assistance dogs are accepted in the museum.
