Le centre d’art contemporain de Châteauvert accueille pendant une semaine Mathilde Barthélémy et Mélanie Loisel autour de leur création concert-rituel pour chanter la mort qui se déroulera dans la salle communale jouxtant le centre d’art.

Ritual creation conceived as a variation around farewells to the dead. " Threshold ", is an imaginary ceremony with two voices, a double bass and objects. A dance with many faces that unfolds according to a plastic scenography. sounds and songs, stories and gestures seize the space, complain, tribute, laugh, liberating cry, turning sadness into an infinite song. From contemporary music and improvised music, this performance is based on contemporary sound research, polyphonies of textures and materials, para-instrumental techniques, multiple voice game modes. Influenced by ethnomusicological and anthropological research, this creation is strongly inspired by traditional music linked to funeral rites. “So walled in silence, so-called civilized societies have forgotten the civility of dying. »
