Nos traditions
Christmas traditions, with the Calendale table, but also the Provencal nativity scene, are still very much alive practices throughout Provence.
The Provençal nativity scene is the result of a unique itinerary, blending over time, secular to religious.
Rich in symbolism and passion, strong in emotions and sensations, Christmas traditions in Provence give meaning and color to the end-of-year celebrations.
Preparing for the nursery is a moment of rediscovery, by reopening the precious boxes and associating the children with their eyes full of new dreams.
Exhibitions
Individual crèches – From 7 to 21 december
A large lively nativity scene, designed and produced in 1952 by Abbé GERAUD, then Vicar General of the Church of Saint-Sauveur in Brignoles, left the church 1971 to be permanently relocated to the museum thanks to the volunteers of the Association of Friends of Old Brignoles.
