Living in a territory, it’s sharing and respecting the water that flows through it. It's being a riverside, in other words, evolve together on
the same shore, while preserving it. Camera on the shoulder and microphone in the hand, the director traces the course of the Argens to its source, to meet committed people, passionate and innovative, who practice and defend sobriety and solidarity in the use of water, in the heart of the Provence Verte-Verdon territory.
Christian Nironi, visual artist, revisits childhood emotions linked to water in his creations, precious but also fun. Georges Olivari, scientist, biologist and director of the Regional Water House, measures the risks of human activity on the biodiversity of aquatic environments, and passes on his passion and knowledge to younger generations. Marie Jacque, environmental sociologist, analyzes the history of men who have shared the joint management of this resource for centuries, always random in this area of Provence. Pierre Milesi, all-terrain technician at the Regional Water House, travels the hills and explores the terraces in search of the remains used to capture this resource and which he calls “water traps”. François Seris introduces us to another type of capture, in the form of these ancient and singular constructions in the rock that are the water mines. Cornélia Kaslin and Laurent Sabatier, both presidents of irrigators associations, preserve hydraulic networks by participating in the maintenance of irrigation canals once dug by Provençal farmers. Yves Perret, environmentally friendly architect, is inspired by the elements
natural in his constructions and gives us his poetic vision of water in architecture. Dominique Rombaut, Natura project manager
2000, travels the banks of the Argens to raise awareness among residents of the environmental risks weighing on aquatic environments. Cécile Barry-Brémond, SVT teacher, accompanies his students in the great outdoors for a practical discovery of environmental sciences.
The children Elio and Mia are busy working on canal maintenance for Martelière Day. And the Dylan teenagers,
Corentin, Bastien and Killian, guided by their educators Didier Lesoil and Jean-Marc Calegari, are involved in the maintenance of the banks, in order to
to make them practicable and accessible to all.
At the confluence of these questions and issues, Christian Nironi looks back on his participation in the Les Eauditives Festival created in 2008
by Plaine Page editions. Art and poetry occupy a preponderant place since the guest authors take over the water areas.
to place it back in the life and imagination of the inhabitants of the territory. This event, since its creation, was an opportunity to raise awareness among young audiences by interacting with poets in schools.
Water, vital commodity, is also the link from one territory to another, the Les Eauditives festival having made it possible to meet the eyes of more 180 poets,
scientists and artists of all nationalities.
