The Musée des Gules Rouges is hosting a new exhibition by the Italian artist Hilario Isola : Dust faces.
A work between memory and matter
This in situ installation is directly inspired by the gestures of mining extraction. From the bauxite dust deposited on rocky surfaces, The artist reveals human figures that recall minors from the past.
His anonymous portraits, raw material, summon both the drawing, sculpture and installation. They testify to the memory of gestures and the transformation of matter, Between visible and invisible.
A significant central work
At the heart of the exhibition, A work inspired by Underground galleries plans evokes a real human geography buried. It highlights the ambivalence between Presence and disappearance, material and empty.
